1. DEEP WATER TROLLING FOR JOCASSEE’S FAMOUS BROWN AND RAINBOW TROUT.
This is the fishery for which Lake Jocassee is most well-known. The South Carolina record for brown trout (17 lb., 9 oz.) and rainbow trout (11 lb., 5 oz.) were caught here. Approximately 30,000 trout are stocked every fall.
2. CASTING FOR 4 SPECIES OF BLACK BASS.
Fish along the shore and up Jocassee’s 4 wild rivers, in search of largemouth, smallmouth, spotted and redeye bass. The South Carolina record smallmouth (9 lb., 7 oz.), spotted (8 lb., 5 oz.), and redeye bass (5 lb., 2 oz.) were all caught in Jocassee. Smallmouth bass are stocked every year.
3. FLY FISHING THE LOWER REACHES OF JOCASSEE’S 4 WILD RIVERS.
This is a totally unique opportunity for die-hard fly-fishing folks. The areas you’ll fish can only be reached by boat. No stocked fish here! You will only find wild trout in the Jocassee Gorges.
