Perspectives
Lake Jocassee is turbulent. Some people laugh in delight and jump wakes with wakeboards, or bounce on tubes behind circling boats, some stir the waters even more with jet skis. Others of us note the erosion along the shoreline with disapproval and seek out calmer places. The water is warm, overheated from too many rain-free days. Some people dive deep, or seek waterfalls to touch cooler water; others luxuriate in the top few inches of warmest water, arms and legs outstretched, floating the dead-man’s float. Some will lay our palms to the springy resilience of a Fall webworm nest, and marvel; others recoil at the mess of sheds and frass contained within. We experience the same events in our own different ways. Thankfully, Lake Jocassee provides room for all our different perceptions.. ~K
