Oh, the chilly windy weather is frightful,

but the company is

so delightful,

so as long as we take it slow,

let it blow, let it blow, let it blow!

Merry Christmas 2U2‍
What a day! Birds, everywhere. One herring gull, brownish, big as a turkey, looking a little awkward surrounded by dainty, agile Bonaparte’s gulls. Loons, everywhere on the lake. Grebes, minding their business close to shore in groups of four and five. Three bald eagles, each watching us pass with a varying degree of interest. Kingfishers. How fortunate for all these birds, having the riches of Jocassee to enjoy. How fortunate for us humans, watching and learning from these wild Jocassee winter residents. ~K
