Woodworkers ‍
We feel like we’re under siege, surrounded by bombinating locals. They seem convinced that we are intruding on their property. They hover, facing us but for an occasional darting sideways glance, yet they are constantly on the move. Distinctive yellow capes cover their backs, matching their small yellow noses. Their feet dangle below solid black bodies. Translucent wings account for the buzz and blur of movement. Will they damage our homes, making nests to raise their young? Well… the jury is out on that. We trap them, of course, and walk down the road to release them, and they probably beat us back to the house. Such is the life of living with carpenter bees. ~K
