SPRING SONG

Where to begin? Spring has pounced, chased out winter, taken over the land. Sensory overload is real. Should I try to describe the breathtaking sight of hundreds of loons and ducks that descended on Lake Jocassee this rainy Saturday morning? Or the precious unfolding of tender, delicate baby leaves that paint the hillsides with soft color? Or the unexpected surprise of fuzzy white fothergilla blooms hanging over a rocky ledge? Or the sweet sounds of songbirds calling across a cove? Or the soft purple bloom of birdfoot violets along a narrow country lane? Or should I simply go back outside and absorb the day?~K
