Is it the most miserable thing ever to sit on an open boat

Is it the most miserable thing ever to sit on an open boat moving at a steady speed, all day, in a light rain, with temperatures not moving out of the 40s? No. Not when one is in the company of other humans who are equally enthralled with place, if not conditions, on a day when Lake Jocassee is occupied by us and one lone fisherman. Not on a day with uncountable variations of gray, overcasting clouds. Not on a day when nature is pushing winter away to welcome the coming spring, despite the temperature. Not on a day saved by a long hot shower and a long hot meal, shared with new friends. Not on a day that ends with a tangerine-lemon sunset sky reflected in still evening waters, promising better weather for the morrow. No misery here. Not at all. ~K
