If Christmas is a day for peace, then the peace of Jocassee today defines this special day. Not a boat in sight, not even a motor heard in the distance. Just one kayaker to nod to on my way in from a near sacred row. Light winds out of the NE for most of the morning, then the predictable ‘slack tide’ that happens about mid-day here, then winds from the SW, building up for a blustery afternoon. Songbirds singing from the forest edge, one unknown to me and so lovely as to nearly ache. And 70 degrees. How about that. Today is a day of wild peace only found in such places as this. ~B
