Plant communities tend to be found in similar habitats, and learning those communities can be a big aid towards learning local plant species. Factors like elevation, aspect, slope, rainfall and temperature affect the locations and types of plant communities as well as identifying plants living within them. Lake Jocassee gives easy access to many of the plant communities found in the Jocassee Gorges. Join Brooks and Kay Wade to learn the characteristics of these communities, and explore them on a trip around the lake. Prerequisite: Basic Botany.
