Itinerary:

FOOTHILLS TRAIL Y'ALL:  https://foothillstrail.org/
It's winter-ish backpacking season at its best. In this edition it's pretty cut & dry :: we'll be doing a self-supported, out & back 30 mile backpacking (15 a day). We will start from the lot at the Table Rock State Park and head up, up and away for 15 miles (or so) to a spot we'll call "home" for a night...even with diminishing light in the winter we should be ok with 15 miles within daylight (even with the commute there). It's a quick pace, but we'll keep in touch as best as possible. The beauty of the "out & back" is even if you're setting a blistering pace you can just post up at 15 miles and we'll catch ya sooner or later...now with that being said you do need to have a solid AOC resume of backpacking events at similar distances and terrain, I'll be vetting ya for that. Now for the winter part of this...it will be most certainly cold AF out there so you'll NEED cold weather gear! If you have to ask what that might be - I'd reconsider signing up...did I mention I'll be vetting everyone that hasn't been out with me b4?

TRSP Map

This map shows our elevation from TRSP (right side) to about where we call it a night (as you go left across the map)...as you can see we selected the harder stuff just for you ;) We should be able to set up for a fire - praying it's dry that weekend! So we can warm up, heat up food and "chill" by a warm fire before sleep. When daylight hits we'll get some hot food & coffee down then it's back to the casa!

Might consider a pit stop at Habanero's for a taco or two b4 heading back....we'll plan that as a group tho.

This is a D6 level backpacking trip, please register only if you're comfortable with an extremely difficult backpacking event and have recent AOC backpacking experience. If your experience is not from the club, please include it in a note when you register. The Trip Leaders reserves the right to remove registrants without a sufficient track record with the club for the safety of everyone. I encourage members to actively participate in challenging experiences, but most importantly - to stay healthy and safe so you can build from here.
