It's been hot and sunny this week, with nearly no rainfall.

In other words, just the weather most boaters dream about. Personally, it just doesn’t feel like the Jocassee Gorges in summer without some dark, threatening skies and bouts of pounding rain sometime most every day. We had a few evening thunderstorms, but not once during the day. This must be some kind of meteorological record for here in July. And the swimming! Sublime would be the word. The water temperature, at about 78 degrees, is the perfect temperature for staying in Lake Jocassee for prolonged periods, a pretty unusual circumstance itself. Of course, if you want some really cold water, join us for any of our kayak or adventure tours. We’ll take you up a wild river or two, where cold water lives this time of year. ~B
