SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW!

Just sit inside and watch tv? The nation, and our beloved Upstate, is fear stricken, and perhaps for good reason. There are so many competing theories about the corona virus that I just do my best to filter out the facts from all the media noise. Here’s a fact to remember during this crisis: being outside in nature is good for you, mentally and physically. Being in wild places, filling your lungs with fresh air and your senses with the wonders of nature, is just plain the smart thing to do right now. It’s spring by most anyone’s definition. On Lake Jocassee Oconee Bells and red maples are blooming. Our eagles are on the nest, the lake is covered with Bonaparte’s gulls, Horned grebes and loons can be seen in their awesome breeding plumage, and loon migration is underway, so the chance to see them leaving and arriving from parts unknown as they head north is now. There is no better time to experience the magic of Lake Jocassee and the Jocassee Gorges. And if you’re not feeling so well, Jocassee heals. It’s a fact. ~B
