KIDS KAYAK CAMP!

Do you have a children or grandchildren interested in learning to kayak? Learn on beautiful Lake Jocassee by joining ACA certified kayak instructor and Jocassee Lake Tours co-owner Brooks Wade. Join Brooks for a course on the basics of flat water kayaking, emphasizing safety, enjoyment and skill acquisition for entry level young people. Students will learn basic strokes and maneuvers, how to safely get in and out of a kayak on land and in open water, and correct paddling posture for a fatigue-free day of paddling. In each class  we’ll work on safety, skills and maneuvers, and practice what we’ve learned on a leisurely paddle along the shores of America’s most beautiful lake. If your young people are already kayakers but want to brush up on skills, or learn new ones, this course is for them as well. Each class session is designed to be a stand-alone course, so you can come just once, or join all four classes. And hey, parents and grandparents! You can join right in and learn or improve your kayak skills too! We promise we won’t let the kids leave you in the dust! Offered every Tuesday for four weeks, from 9am to 12 noon. All materials and supplies are included, including kayak, pfd (life jacket), paddle and instructional literature. $45 per person, per session.
