Sheryl White

a body of water surrounded by trees

After an early morning shuttle up lake to drop a couple of hikers at the Horsepasture Bridge Access to the Foothills Trail, I contently sat listening to the river and birds singing as the morning sun warmed me. Finishing my coffee, I made my way back to the dock to pick up another group for a morning tour. With school ending and summer approaching, the lake is getting busy again with families and friends sharing time and celebrating special occasions, from birthdays and graduations to just spending a quiet couple of hours together watching a sunset or a full moon rising over Jocassee. Warmer days mean water temps are rising, too, making swimming a very “refreshing” experience (translation: still chilly in the shade.) From early morning to late evening, you can’t go wrong spending some time out here. Leave your boat at home, let us do the driving and come… make some new memories. ~Sheryl White, JLT Naturalist guide
